• Twas the night before tall boots
    and all through the town
    Every girl was excited
    with no longer a frown

All the tall boots were lined up

    in the closet with care
    for hopes that 10/1
    soon would be here
    Blah blah blah blah
    HAPPY TALL BOOT EVE!
    celebrate
  • I was going through my closet planning out all the cute outfits I’m going to wear AFTER October 1.
And they ALL include tall boots and I’m really, really excited for them all.
Alas, a few more days, here’s the official countdown:
    boots countdown
  • These are tough times, I know – it’s going to be a long week, possibly 2 weeks.

    BUT …You can do it!
We all made it through a couple of cool nights without boots didn’t we? DIDN’T WE!?!?!
    Your pedicures thank you.
In fact all y’alls boots thank you for not having a “swamp feet” situation.
Here’s the weather outlook – it’s pretty self explanatory:
    weather outlook

So in this crucial time of Tall Boot Limbo, let’s reflect on some things together:

Things that are totally acceptable all year long:
    • Cowboy boots
    • Rain boots, or wellies
    • Flip Flops
So yes, feel free to wear your cowboy boots in any color you want, any time of year. I’ll be wearing my red ones on Saturday more than likely – GO HOGS!

Technically flip flops are acceptable all year long, but please don’t blame me for frost bite. The theory here is that you’re using your own best judgement and/or possibly just coming from a pedicure.

Now I’m sure I’m going to ruffle a few (more) feathers here, but let’s discuss white shoes.
I’d really prefer you NEVER wear them – the only acceptable times are a) it’s Easter Sunday – not to be confused with “Easter season,” b) it’s your wedding day, or c) nope, there is no c – there are only 2 fair and appropriate times to wear white shoes.

  • Happy Labor Day!
    Happy September First!
    Happy still summer …

I know it’s confusing – and we can partially blame Starbucks with their premature release of the pumpkin spice latte, but no, you cannot wear tall boots today … or really for the next 30 days for that matter.

Take a look at the forecast, it’s still supposed to be in the upper 80’s and into the 90’s for as far as the meteorologists can see. There’s no point in also prematurely wearing tall boots, savor these last weeks of sandals and patios, let the longing for tall boots and fall and cool weather linger for just a little longer.

The first day of fall is Tuesday, September 23rd – we will revisit in a few weeks, but no guarantees.
October 1 is just a week later – make the sacrifice and wait for the right day!

    wait

  • It will officially be the middle of September tomorrow and will subsequently officially be stupid weather with a very likely chance of rain throughout the entire day and night. And it appears it’s also going to rain all night long, which means it may very well be a mud pit in the morning all across the mighty tailgate town of Fayetteville.

Knowing all of this and consulting the alignment of the starts and my crystal boot – YOU CAN WEAR TALL BOOTS TOMORROW!

    But beware of these pitfalls:

    • No suede … aforementioned mud will ruin that in a heartbeat.
    • For all you HOG fans, it’s a day-time game – be mindful of your choice of boot, tall black boots are still gonna get at least a smirk from me and thus, probably from people around you too.
    • Rain boots are probably your best bet AND you can also splash in puddles around ‘Bama fans and not worry about a thing, just as long as you don’t have to walk back by them after the game is over.
  • Blame it partially on the Blue Moon, which won’t happen again for 15 years, blame it a smidge on peer pressure and of course we all know rules are made to be broken every once in a while.
It is September 1, so technically we are in what is called “Tall Boot Limbo” but don’t get too excited, it’s predicted to be back up in the high 90’s next week, so please don’t break out the tall black boots – that’s still firm for October 1.
Today though, TODAY is the day – RED COWBOY BOOTS DAY!
A big thanks to THE “Evolved Mommy” for the last minute order delivery, personal shopper treatment AND the tour of the Country Outfitter fulfillment center.

  • There is quite the debate going on about the “use” of cowboy boots and summer sundresses … I would personally prefer you not participate in this movement. However, if you must, let’s implement a 3x per season rule – ok?
But then again, it’s 106 outside, why would wear anything else but flip flops!

We definitely have a summertime conundrum on our hands … or feet rather!

    dessert

  • In most places except Texas, today is the last day of spring break. So celebrate – wear tall boots. Today is really one of the last days it’s probably going to be permissible. Easter is right around the corner and barring a snowstorm NO TALL BOOTS AFTER EASTER!
We’ll discuss the wearing of white shoes at another point in time.

    whatever

  • Congratulations – you’ve found the answer to all your prayers.
Do you struggle daily questioning the ability to wear tall boots? If you answered yes, or had even a moment of paused before you thought the right answer should be no – then welcome home.

Today, you can wear tall boots – might I suggest rainboots or wellies – it’s a big soggy out there still. If you don’t have these (go get some) – you can wear regular boots, but stay away from suede.
